Overview On November 5, 1943, the Northeastern University Corporation voted to celebrate the University's 50th Anniversary from September 1947 through October 1948.  On January 24, 1946, the Board of Trustees established a committee to plan the anniversary celebrations.  The Central Committee for the 50th Anniversary was chaired by Robert G.
