From 1980-2000, Natalie Ammarell worked at United South End Settlements as a consultant for Executive Director/President Frieda Garcia. United South End Settlements was founded as the Andover House in 1892 in Boston, Massachusetts. Their mission is to harness the power of their diverse community to disrupt the cycle of poverty for children and their families. Natalie Ammarell earned her Master's degree in Urban Affairs at Boston University in 1973 and later earned her Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems at Fielding Graduate University in 1999. From 1972 to 2002, Natalie Ammarell worked as an organizational consultant with a special focus on Boston-area community-based nonprofit organizations and the government agencies that fund them. The collection consists of books and primary sources relating to the history of the United South End Settlements collecting by Natalie Ammarell during her research.
