Content Description

The East Boston Greenway is a linear park planned along the old railroad right-of-way, connecting neglected portions of East Boston’s historic waterfront to the Piers Park, the Boston Parks stadium, and two Urban Wilds: Wood Island Bay Marsh and Belle Isle Marsh. The Friends of the East Boston Greenway and its predecessor, the East Boston Greenway Council, have provided the vision for the Greenway and the planning for its many public programs. The mission of The Friends of the East Boston Greenway is to promote the establishment, development, maintenance, and positive use of the East Boston Greenway, and they work to develop and promote educational and cultural programming concerning natural resources, local history and health and fitness with the East Boston Greenway as the venue for these programs (http://www.bostonnatural.org/gwyEB.htm). The collection consists of four DVDs from the Boston Natural Areas Fund's East Boston Greenway Oral History Project. The collection is unprocessed. 46/4 Accessioned 2015 Jul 13.
