Content Description

Includes reports, court cases, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and various other material documenting the role of The Tobacco Control Research Center in advocating for tobacco control measures. The collection is unprocessed. The Tobacco Control Research Center (TCRC) is a division of the Public Health Advocacy Institute at the Northeastern University School of Law, a legal research center focused on public health law. Formed in 1979, the TCRC provides law and policy analysis and technical assistance to domestic and foreign governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, attorneys involved in tobacco-related litigation, and tobacco control advocates. The TCRC also promotes public health oriented perspectives in the news media coverage of key law and policy developments affecting tobacco control. The TCRC’s Tobacco Products Liability Project has held more than two dozen annual conferences where many of the strategies for holding the tobacco industry legally accountable were first devised. Accessioned 2004 Sep 10. There are general appraisal issues about how much of this to keep. Are the photocopies available elsewhere in the collection or on any of the online tobacco sites (Tufts and UCSF)? 37/2, 39/4, 40/2-3, 41/1-4
