The collection consists of a bound ledger book containing meeting minutes of the Boston Board of Liability Underwriters (1896-1897). The collection is unprocessed. The Boston Board of Liability Underwriters was organized on 8 May 1896 by local agents of employers’ liability insurance companies "for the purpose of general information and discussion of subjects of general interest in the conduct of liability insurance, for mutual benefit." Companies represented on the board included the United States Casualty Company, Union Casualty Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company, Standard Life and AccidentCompany, London Guarantee and Accident Company, Fidelity and Casualty Company, and Employers’ Liability Assurance Corporation. The board's first president was S.F. Woodman. Accessioned 2008 May 19. 44/4
