This collection contains negatives of photographs taken by Boston Phoenix Managing Editor Clif Garboden taken for use in the Boston Phoenix. This collection is unprocessed. Clif Garboden worked as a journalist in Boston from 1966 till his death in 2011. He started at Boston University's student newspaper in 1966. Except for the years 1986-1992, when Garboden freelanced and wrote for the Globe Sunday Magazine, his entire 40-year career was at the Boston Phoenix. He started as a freelance photographer and worked his way up to Senior Managing Editor. One of his best known pieces of writing was his "Hot Dots" TV reviews which were known to be acerbic and concise. After leaving the Boston Phoenix in 2009, he continued writing on a blog titled "This Annoying World." Accessioned 2016 Apr 14. 45/4
