The collection is unprocessed. The provost of Northeastern University is the chief academic officer of the university and reports to the president. The provost provides leadership for all curricular, instructional and faculty development matters and governs the budgeting, administering, evaluating, and planning of the academic aspects of university life. Created in 1958, the Office of the Provost has expanded with the university's size and adapted to its evolving academic priorities. Over the years the office has grown to include associate and vice-provosts who are in charge of specific academic areas such as faculty affairs, research, budgeting, graduate education, continuing education, and undergraduate education.
