Summary:

The series documents the acquisition of works of art for the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists' collection, and the process of organizing and promoting the museum's exhibits.  The series contains correspondence to and from artists and correspondence on the installation and transportation of artwork.  The bulk of the series documents the exhibits and contains mostly exhibit brochures and other promotional materials.  These materials are arranged by artist and by exhibit.  Artists include Benny Andrews, Dana Chandler, Allan Rohan Crite, and Lois Mailou Jones. General information on exhibits including correspondence, calendars, and proposal forms is located at the beginning of the Exhibits section.
