The series documents the organization, management, and staffing of the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists and contains Advisory Board correspondence and minutes, annual reports, and personnel procedures.  Of special interest are transcripts of the Subcommittee hearings on the Museum Services Act in which Director Edmund Barry Gaither testified in favor of a bill to provide financial assistance for improving and operating museums, and a folder on the history of the museum.
