Tsongas, Paul, 1983
Summary:
The series documents the political activities of Bernard "Bunny" Solomon through news clippings, correspondence, and government documents. It includes his tenure as aide to Governor Foster Furcolo, 1955-1957, and as State Purchasing Agent, 1957-1960. The majority of the material is under the heading Political Activities, and is arranged in chronological order, with major events and long-term appointments separately noted. Correspondence with and photographs of important political figures, many of whom were personal friends of Solomon, are organized under the heading Political Figures. Of particular interest are photographs of and correspondence with several presidents, including Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Bill Clinton. Also of interest are photographs of Solomon campaigning for John F. Kennedy with West Virginia miners.
