Summary:

This series contains correspondence documenting Merced's work as a legislator in the House of Representatives. The bulk of the material focuses on housing, education, and immigration. This series also includes letters to Merced from colleagues in the House of Representatives asking for support on legislation or inviting Merced to join a particular. Letters from individuals and community organizations on a variety of issues such as tenant/landlord relations, the Boston public school system, immigration issues, and employment are also in this series. Invitations to events are also included as well as letters of thanks to and from community members and colleagues. Researchers should note that some items are in Spanish.
