Summary:
The series documents the summer youth internship program, Project Image, run in cooperation with the Boston Photo Collaborative. The materials are arranged into three subseries: Administration, Participants, and Projects. The materials created by Project Image administrators document the program's growth and development, including budgets and fundraising efforts, press coverage and publication of teen photographers' work, and evaluations of the program by its participants. General folders under Administration contain materials such as participant lists and descriptions of the program. Materials created by Project Image teen participants document local community-based youth organizations, especially the Boston Youth Clean-up Corps, Brookside and other Boston neighborhoods, and issues of interest to inner-city teens, through photographs, essays, and notes. Participants' personal projects addressed issues such as teen pregnancy and parenting, drug and alcohol use among teenagers, and youth violence. Materials created collectively by the participants are grouped under Projects. General folders contain photographs unrelated to a specific project. Undated large-format exhibition prints are arranged alphabetically at the end of the series.
