Scope and Contents
The series includes audio and video recordings, photographs, and scrapbooks documenting a variety of AARW events and programs. Included are photographs of annual meetings, banquets, and retreats, as well as Asian Pacific Heritage week events, Coffeehouses, and the CreAsian art festival. Also included are photographs of demonstrations related to urban renewal (Parcel C) and immigrants’ rights. The series contains slideshows on Chinatown and Chinese American history and display materials from an exhibit about cinematographer James Wong Howe. Video recordings include documentaries about Chinatown and garment workers.
