The Lower Roxbury Community Corporation (LRCC) was formed in May 1966 by four small neighborhood groups that met at four neighborhood centers in Lower Roxbury in May 1966. The neighborhood meetings were in response to the Boston Redevelopment Authority's (BRA) proposal to build a high school in Lower Roxbury, potentially displacing local residents and businesses.
