Summary:

This series consists of records created by Boston YMCA's governing and administrative bodies, such as the Board of Directors (formerly, the Board of Managers) and the Board of Trustees. All Board of Directors and Board of Managers meeting minutes are filed under Board of Directors Minutes. There are additional Board of Managers minutes in series two. Also the folder for the 1945 minutes of the Board of Directors in box 84 is labeled “Executive Committee... and General Assembly Minutes”. Materials include minutes, acts and resolutions, constitution and by-laws, annual reports, and statements. The series also includes minutes from the Board of Directors and board committees. Meeting minutes can also be found in meeting packets, which were distributed prior to each regularly scheduled Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings. They consist of documents related to the meeting's discussion, which include but are not limited to internal records, brochures and pamphlets, and minutes from the previous meeting proposed for approval. General committee reports can be found in Series V. Subject Files (Boxes 13-14, 23, Folders 200-208, 331). Also included is a large block of correspondence from Boston YMCA presidents John Ferrell and Peter Post.
