Governance, 1996-2000

The series consists of awards, by-laws, financials, meeting minutes, newspapers clippings, organizational histories, photographs, and scholarships. The Group of Groups material documents the effort to ally gay and lesbian employee groups in order to discuss strategies to lobby for non-discrimination policies and partner health care. The Steve Kyle material consists of board member Steve Kyle's correspondence regarding the 1998 Awards for Excellence. Of special interest is the “crisis” of 2000 which relates to the lax accounting practices which led to the resignation of President Lori Pilcher and the subsequent reorganization of the GBBC. The “crisis” received local coverage in Bay Windows, New England's largest Gay and Lesbian newspaper.
